Growing up and, as a young would be actor Toynbee hall,The Toynbee Players, and Toynbee School of Drama were very much part of my life. At this place I learnt much of what I had hoped to know, about drama, great playwrights, politics, acting and life as lived in general. I made good friends and met many good people, most of whom ,and with the passage of time, I have lost contact with. Happily though ,I have never forgotten them, each of them in their own way have left their mark on me.They helped in no small way to develop my character which until then ridden with anxiety, full of the complexes of the young and uninformed ,stood good chance of developing into something dark, prejudiced and almost sinister, and for that I shall be eternally grateful.
